Crafting Development Discussion

Crafting Discussion
by Michael Mann, Lead Systems Designer

Hello everyone! We have been browsing, filtering, and cataloging feedback from you and we are in the process of applying much of that feedback to our crafting systems. Now is the time to give your feedback super early in the design process for some upcoming adjustments we are making to crafting.

Here’s a rundown to give you a brief summary of each new crafting system we’re currently discussing. We have some initial plans and ideas, but we’d like your input as well. Let us know what you think on the forums, and we’ll take that information and integrate it again, for maximum awesomeness! What do you think of that?!

Here are the systems:
Upgrading – Upgrading is done at a forge and allows you to use relics to choose and increase the stats of an item that has already been created. You can increase statistics so much that the quality of the item increases.
Imbuing – Imbuing is done at the alchemy station and it allows you to reroll the mods (stuff like Heavy, Quick, Exceeding) on your items. You can use relics creatively to increase the chance of getting the mod that you want.
Reinforcing – Reinforcing is done at a forge and allows you to get better stats on an item when you first create it.
Refining Stations – Refining stations allow you to queue up things like ingots and planks to be created while you are away. This will be a convenience feature as well as a gateway to the late game.

There you have it! We’ll be listening to your feedback in the alpha forums on all of these, and we are looking forward to continuing the development process with you.
