Grand Theft Auto V‘s multiplayer mode, GTA Online, already lets players complete a quest to unlock a Red Dead Redemption 2 weapon. Now, the next crossover promotion for Rockstar’s big games has been announced, though unfortunately details are light at the moment.
In a May 8 blog post, Rockstar said fans can “look for another lost relic from the frontier to be unearthed in Los Santos later this year.” Though this line never mentions Red Dead Redemption 2 by name, “the frontier” is a strong suggestion that it pertains to the upcoming open-world western game.
Currently in GTA Online, you can go on a scavenger hunt of sorts to find the Double-Action Revolver (see it above). Once you find it, you’re tasked with completing a Headshot Challenge with it. If you’re successful, you get the gun in Red Dead Redemption 2.
Unfortunately, we don’t know anything about the newest crossover event between GTA V and Red Dead Redemption 2. We’ll report back with more details as they become available.
Rockstar recently released a new trailer for Red Dead Redemption 2–and it was very good. We also got a look at 19 new screenshots that show off the beautiful and deadly world. Red Dead Redemption 2 launches on October 26 for PS4 and Xbox One.
