Cinderella Story

Cinderella Story is a Facebook-based social game from BIT.GAMES.

Almost every little girl has a dream of becoming Cinderella, who lives a dramatic life and meet her Prince Charming at some extremely romantic occasions. Though real life usually does not turn out to be that way, it doesn’t mean they cannot realize their dreams through some simulation video games, like Cinderella Story. It’s a Facebook-based simulation game where you play as Cinderella and endeavor to make the way to the royal hall.

The story is pretty much the same as the original Cinderella fairytale. The stepmother of yours deems you as an extra burden and would like to get rid of you by sending you to serve in the royal kitchen. And that’s where your legendary story starts.

There is an option allowing you to customize and dress your character in whatever way you like. That I guess is most girls would be interested in. The customization options include haircut, face, skin color, hat, dress and so on.

To be honest, there isn’t much to say regarding the gameplay. All your character has to do is clap her hands to trigger some magic that can get the job done in one second. And what you have to do is hold your mouse and click over and over again. There are tons of quests asking you to collect some sort of resources or make some particular products. But like what I said above, there is nothing invigorating, just tedious repetitive work.

Like all other Facebook-based games, social interaction is an important part of the game. You can send requests to your Facebook friends to invite them in. And you can always show your appreciation and support for the neighboring kingdoms by visiting and doing some clearing work for them. But the annoying part is that whenever a quest is completed, it asks you to share it with friends. For your reference, the intervals between quests are usually within in one minute.

At the end of the day, Cinderella Story could offer a taste of how Cinderella makes effort to be a royal member. But as a video game, it’s neither interesting, nor playable. Probably only kids could really make fun out of it.
